What to do in Dublin

Away from the bustle of the city, yet within the city centre, is one of the world's largest city parks, Phoenix Park. This is an excellent place to head for in the summer months as there are extensive and colourful gardens and many sports opportunities which include cricket, football and motor-racing. There is also much to see just outside Dublin, from the beaches at Bray and Howth to picturesque harbours, attractive woodland and many fine historic houses and ancient castles.

Tourist Attractions

Major attractions in Dublin include the Olympia Theatre, which is the city's oldest theatre. The theatre is located near Dublin Castle and is a must-see for those who love the performing arts. Another must-see is the Dublinia Exhibition, which was voted the European Museum of the Year 2002. Museums and galleries are in abundance in Dublin, with the National Museum and National Gallery in the forefront.

For night time activities, it is imperative that you spend at least one evening down at the Temple Bar district near the River Liffey, which is famed for its hundreds of pubs and restaurants and lively atmosphere.
