Port of Dublin

Harbour Information, Terminals and Facilities
(Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland)

Dublin Port is the busiest passenger ferry port in Ireland, serving 1.5 million passengers per year to destinations in the UK and Europe. The port has three terminals and lies at the mouth of the River Liffey, which is under 3kms from the city centre.

Dublin Port is served by four major ferry companies: Irish Ferries, P&O Irish Sea, Stena Line, and Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.

Facilities at the port are excellent and include bureau de change counters, cash machines, a coffee shop, a convenience store and baby-changing rooms. Passengers with special needs are well catered for. In addition to these facilities, there are short and long-term car parks at the port, with reserved spaces for disabled drivers.

Ferry Services

Irish Ferries operate the world's biggest car ferry on the Dublin-Holyhead route. The ferry, known as the Ulysses, holds 2,000 passengers and hundreds of cars. The Dublin-Holyhead route is a popular one and is also served by a high-speed service, the Jonathan Swift catamaran.

P&O's Irish Sea has three services from Dublin to Britain and France, including Dublin to Liverpool, Dublin to Mostyn (North Wales), and Dublin to Cherbourg (Normandy, France) in the summer months.

Stena Line's Stena Adventurer super-ferry is a recent addition to the Dublin-Holyhead route operating a twice-daily, year-round service. Stena Line is renowned for its attention to detail and high standards.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company offers a standard ferry service to Liverpool from Dublin all year round, as well as an additional fast ferry service in the summer months. There is also a regular summer service to Douglas (Isle of Man) en-route to Liverpool.
